Travelogue: A Few Moments on Lake Wakatipu

Travelogue: A Few Moments on Lake Wakatipu

by Johnny Isaak ·

Standing on the shore, indigo water lapping at my feet, just taking in the moment. A cool breeze drives small cresting waves sparkling and falling in the low sun. Warm yellows and golds fade to black. There is something special about catching the last rays of wonderful day.

Lake Wakatipu, South Island, New Zealand

Watching the sunset from the bank of Lake Wakatipu, it’s the perfect place to be. Being surrounded by towering jagged peaks, it’s not hard to understand why they filmed the Lord of the Rings epics here. The stunning beauty of the South Island makes the journey well worth the effort.

Traveling to distant lands and experiencing magical places firsthand, it’s what travel is all about. See you out there. Cheers.
